The Denton County Sheriff’s Office announced on May 9 that Brando Zambrano-Rincon was arrested on a felony charge of possession with intent to promote child pornography and remained in county custody with an active Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.
Zambrano-Rincon was arrested and booked on May 7. The Denton County Sheriff’s Office listed the offense as possession with intent to promote child pornography. It noted the active ICE hold in its booking statement, according to the Denton County Sheriff’s Office.
Texas law defines promotion of child pornography to include possessing visual material that visually depicts a child younger than 18 engaging in sexual conduct with the intent to promote that material, according to the Texas Penal Code.
Public booking records also list Zambrano-Rincon’s May 7 arrest and the charge of possession with intent to promote child pornography, according to Texas Arrests.
The Denton County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for law enforcement, jail operations, and detention services in Denton County. The agency processes arrests, maintains booking records, and coordinates with federal partners such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement on applicable holds, according to the agency.
