Tarrant County has issued a Declaration of Local Disaster Due to Public Health Emergency.
In order to help limit exposure and prevent the spread of Coronavirus, the City of Euless is following the recommendations of Tarrant County Public Health and will be closing the Euless Family Life Center, Senior Center and Euless Library from March 14-29. In addition, all athletic events including sports leagues and tournaments will also be cancelled during this time period. We believe this will help to mitigate the potential risk and effects of this virus on our community. The health and safety of our residents is a top priority. We will continue to maintain daily communication with state and county health officials during this time.
Euless staff participates in daily conference calls conducted by the Texas Department of State Health Services. This has been ongoing for over two months. In addition, we have coordinated our response plans with Tarrant County Public Health and have contacts we can speak to 24-hours a day should the need arise. The 9-1-1 Dispatch center has implemented a procedure using the CDC guidance to ask travel questions on calls needing assistance consistent with a respiratory illness. This ensures our first responders can put on the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before patient contact.
We encourage all citizens to be diligent with your own hygiene. Visit the CDC website for more information on how COVID-19 is spread. The CDC recommends everyday practices that help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases.
