TARRANT COUNTY COLLEGE: Four high schools at Tarrant County College named among 2020 Best High Schools in the nation

Tarrant County College issued the following announcement on April 30

Four Tarrant County College early college high schools were ranked among the 2020 Best High Schools based on rankings recently published by U.S. News & World Report.

U.S. News 2020 Best High Schools numerically ranked nearly 18,000 schools nationwide this year.

TCC’s highest ranked school was the Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences (TABS), located at TCC Trinity River, 393 in the nation, 62 in Texas, 19 in Dallas-Fort Worth and second in Fort Worth ISD. Jack Henson is the principal.

Also ranked were:

  • Collegiate Academy at Tarrant County College, located at TCC Northeast, 5,256 in the nation, 436 in Texas, 126 in Dallas-Fort Worth and fourth in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. Bobbe Knutz is the principal.
  • Marine Creek Collegiate High School (MCCHS), located at TCC Northwest, 5,552 in the nation, 458 in Texas, 132 in Dallas-Fort Worth and seventh in Fort Worth ISD. Tom Fraire is the principal.
  • Everman Academy High School, located in Everman ISD with instructors provided by TCC South, 13,345-17,792 in the nation, 1,206-1,485 in Texas, 263-298 in Dallas-Fort Worth. Cherie Pace is the principal.
The Best High Schools rankings, available online only, are produced in conjunction with RTI International, a global research firm. U.S. News doesn’t collect data directly from high schools – all data comes directly from official third-party sources. U.S. News receives AP and IB data directly from the College Board and International Baccalaureate, respectively, for use in the rankings. The state assessment data and graduation rates are from each state, and other data comes from the U.S. Department of Education Common Core of Data.
