City of Burleson issued the following announcement on June 25
The City of Burleson is in the planning process for the Fiscal Year 2020-2021 budget and is asking residents to provide feedback on which items they’d like to see prioritized in next year’s budget.
As city staff look to support Burleson’s economic recovery in the wake of COVID-19, the city is also focusing on enhancing public safety, investing in roads, and re-imagining neighborhoods.
The development of the city’s budget begins in early spring and concludes with the budget’s adoption by city council in September. Visit burlesontx.com/budgetinput to view budget-related presentations and fill out the resident feedback survey.
Input from residents helps ensure that our community’s most important needs and priorities are addressed in the city’s budget.
The city invites all residents to learn more about the budget process and get involved.
The proposed budget is designed to accomplish the goals outlined in the city’s Strategic Plan. The Plan is organized into four Strategic Focus Areas: Operational Excellence, Infrastructure, Community and Public Safety.
The major strategic spending priorities heading into the budget process include ensuring financial sustainability over the next several budget years, enhancing public safety, developing a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget in conjunction with the city’s operating budget.
