City of Euless recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Euless is constructing a new facility to replace Fire Station 1 located at 201 East Ash Lane. It will take approximately 24 months to demolish the 35-year-old structure and build a new one. The larger and improved station will allow the Fire Department to maintain a quick response time and excellent service within an area that is experiencing strong residential and business expansion.
As Euless continues to grow and increase in residential population, as well as commercial buildings north of the freeway, we want to ensure that this area of the City will not be underserved by Fire, Emergency Medical and Rescue resources. Rebuilding Station 1 will allow Euless to add personnel, apparatus and capability to the north section of town in order to better support that growth.
“The major goal for rebuilding Fire Station 1 is to be able to support the growth of the City north of the Airport Freeway,” says Fire Chief Wes Rhodes.
The new facility will include four double-deep bays to accommodate an aerial ladder truck, fire engine and ambulance. Additional bay space will provide room to house reserve vehicles and equipment. The station will also have living quarters and operation offices for the staff. During the construction phase, Fire temporarily located at 501 West Harwood Road. We anticipate construction to be completed in 2022.
